MOORESBORO, NC – Kathleen Camp Peeler, 91, of 2453 McCraw Rd., died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2002, in Cleveland Regional Medical Center, Shelby.
Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of Clarence Odis Peeler and daughter of the late Raymond Oscar Camp and the late Lillian Delora Arnold Camp. She was a homemaker and member of Lavonia Baptist Church.
Surviving are four sons, Buddy Roger Peeler and his wife Mollie of Mooresboro, Bobby Joel Peeler and his wife Nancy of Gaffney, Don Marshall Peeler and his wife Joann of Ellenboro, and Clarence Edward Peeler and his wife Janice of Mooresboro; three daughters, Vivian Safarah Orr and her husband Walter Herbert of Gaffney, Brenda Joyce McSwain and her husband Leonard of Shelby, and Shelba Jean Lovelace of Mooresboro; a son-in-law, Charles Ivey of Gaffney; 24 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Peeler was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Antaphy Ivey.
Services will be held today at 4 p.m. at Lavonia Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. Buddy Morehead and Jack Pennington. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 3:30 p.m.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be Garrison McCray and Greg Cooper.
The family is at the home.

Deacon J. B. Camp, 77, of 405 W. Birnie St., died Wednes-day, April 11, 2000, at his home.
A native of Rutherfordton, NC, he was the husband of Helen Morris Camp and son of the late Moses Camp and the late Laura Green Camp. He was a member of Mikes Creek Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and member of the All Male Chorus. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. He was retired from Duke Power and Summit Security.
Also surviving are four sons, John Link Camp of Spartanburg, Howard Lee Camp and Avery Camp of Gaffney and Roger Gene Camp of Gastonia, NC; three daughters, Lois Camp Oglesby of Charlotte, NC, Debrah Camp Blanton and Rebecca Camp Armstrong of Gaffney; one sister, Laura Mae Watkins of Gaffney; 15 grandchildren, three reared in the home as children, Shondra Grey Camp, Timothy Oglesby of Norfolk, VA, and Reginald Oglesby of Charlotte; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Mikes Creek Baptist Church conducted by Dr. S. M. Johnson; Dr. J. W. Sanders ,Sr.; Dr. Leon C. Rector; Dr. C. V. Owens and the Revs. Tony Macomson; Jerry Manning; Curry Wray and Sammy Leach. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m.
Pallbearers will be the Deacons and Trustees of the church. Honorary pallbearers will be Willie Proctor, Mandret Wilkins, Herman Wood and Roy P. Ratchford. Flower bearers will the deaconesses and wives of the trustees of the church. Foster Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Beenie Camp LeMaster, 89, of 422 S. Limestone St., Gaffney, SC, died July 31, 2005, at her residence.
A native of Cherokee County, she was the widow of the late Dr. Hamlet Wilkins LeMaster. She was a homemaker and former school teacher.
Survivors: daughters, Miss Nancy J. LeMaster of Pendleton, SC, and Mrs. Judy L. Bailey and husband, Roger, of Union, S.C.; grandchildren, Catherine Bailey Childers and husband, Jason, and Miss Nancy Brooke Bailey; and great-grandson, William Bailey Childers.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. today, Aug. 2, 2005, at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home, Downtown location. Services will follow in the chapel at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Grassy Pond Baptist Church Cemetery.

Thomas M. Drake - Hilton Head Island
Thomas Mitchell Drake, 74, of Hilton Head Island, and formerly of Greenville, died Wednesday at St. Joseph/Candler Hospital in Savannah, GA.
He was born on April 23, 1931, in Salisbury, NC, and was the son of the late Margaret Isabel (CAMP) Drake Crutchfield and Nathan Maxwell Drake.
He graduated from Greenville High School and was a graduate of Furman University and Duke University. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He taught political science at Furman University and then at West Virginia University. He was a liaison with the College of the Virgin Islands and retired from the West Virginia State Supreme Court Law Library.
He was a member of the St. Andrews Episcopal Church and more recently St. Michael's Lutheran Church. He was a faithful member of the church choir.
He was very loving and devoted to his children and grandchildren. He was an avid reader and moviegoer.
He is survived by a son, Timothy Maxwell Drake; three daughters, Laura Drake Cunningham, Patricia Drake Clark and Margaret Drake Clark; five grandchildren, Lucas and Andrew Cunningham, Wilson and Emily Clark, and Olivia Anne MacIsaac; a sister Alice Drake Cantey; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Anne Burnette Drake; and second wife, Gloria Drake; and a sister, Patricia Drake DiMiere.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, 2005, at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Greenville, with the Rev. Robert Miles officiating, followed by a reception with the family.

SPARTANBURG, SC-- Alton Thomas Jack Camp, 86, of 442 St. Andrews Street, died Tuesday, May 25, 2004, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born September 8, 1917, in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late Alton Thomas and Sally Taylor Camp and the husband of the late Dorothy Lunette Cooper. He was retired from Spartan Mills with over 40 years of service, and was a member of Una First Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Eugene Camp, of Spartanburg; three step-sons, Gene Cooper, David Cooper, and Don Cooper, all of Spartanburg; two sisters, Leda Harding and Ida Greer, both of Mayo; a brother, Horace Camp, of Mayo; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and his former wife, Cathleen Fowler Camp. He was predeceased by a sister, Lela Fowler.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 28, 2004, at Una First Freewill Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Cash.

TRAVELERS REST, SC-- Jackson Lee Camp, 66, of 1951 Hwy #414 died January 12, 2005.
A native of Polk County, he was the son of the late Herbert Thomas and Ruth High Camp and husband of Shirley Belue Camp. He was employed at Shedd Foods and a member of O'Neal Church of God. He served in the U.S. Navy and was president of Troop #229 Sportsman Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Terry Lee Camp of Tigerville, Ricky Thomas Camp of Landrum and Timothy James Camp of Greenville; a daughter, Deborah Smith of Spartanburg; a brother, Ed Camp of Tryon; two sisters, Juanita Staton of Landrum and Louise Frady of Columbia; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Camp Owens, died at 8:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at his home.
Mr. Owens was born in Pickens County, a son of the late Joseph Marshall and
Myra Jane Brooks Owens. He was a retired carpenter with Watkins Development
Co. Mr. Owens played guitar and dobro for Foothills Gospel Group, and also
for Sounds of Victory Gospel Group. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps
during the Korean conflict. Mr. Owens was a member of Glassy Mountain View
Baptist Church, where he was Sunday school superintendent.
Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Clarence Junior Owens and his
wife, Carol, of Dacusville, Clyde Marshall Owens and his wife, Lynne, of
Dacusville, and Toby Shane Owens and his wife, Beth, of Dacusville; a
daughter and son-in-law, Mira Sue Owens Edens and her husband, Robert, of
Seneca; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a special friend,
Bertha Mae Hayes, of Pickens. He was predeceased by a son, Kenneth Earl
Camp, and a brother, W. C. Owens.

Assistant Sunday School Superintendent.

Born in Toccoa, Ga., a son of the late Clifton and Minnie Hill Camp. Mr. Camp was formerly employed as a lineman with Ballenger Electric Company and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are two sons, Cecil Camp, of Liberty, and Bradley Scott Camp, of Easley; two daughters, Helen Duncan, of Six Mile, and Blanch Mary Barrett, of Greenville; two brothers, Julius Camp, of Greenville, and Hubert Camp, of Easley; a sister, Grace Clark, of Easley; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Camp was predeceased by his wife, Alice Stockton Camp.

Born in Stephens County, Ga., he was the husband of the late Sarah Spearman Camp and the son of the late N.J. and Lizzie Massey Camp.
Mr. Camp was retired from Ashworth Brothers, a member of Monaghan Baptist Church, Brandon Chapter No. 92 O.E.S., and Brandon Mason Lodge No. 279 A.F.M.

Delia A. Camp, a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, died Wednesday afternoon in her home from a sudden illness. A daughter of the late Ernest F. Bayne and Delia Ward Bayne. She had lived most of her life in Henderson County, and was the wife of the late William Hoyt Camp, who died in 1996. She was preceded in death by her son, Leon Camp, who died in 1997.
Formerly of Greenville County, Mrs. Camp was associated with Green River and J.P. Stevens Mill, retiring in 1981 with 40 years of service. She was a member of Mountain Valley Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002, at Mountain Valley Baptist Church, with the Revs. Oliver Skeritt and Harold McKinnish officiating. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Terry Lee Camp of Tigerville, Ricky Thomas Camp of Landrum and Timothy James Camp of Greenville; a daughter, Deborah Smith of Spartanburg; a brother, Ed Camp of Tryon; two sisters, Juanita Staton of Landrum and Louise Frady of Columbia; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight at Petty Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Petty Funeral Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Joel W. Poole and the Rev. T.J. Marcus. Burial will be in Campobello Cemetery.

Ruth C. Westbrooks, LPN at UCMC
Ruth Carroll Camp Westbrooks, 61, of 126 Westbrook Dr., died Thursday, July 4, 2002, in Upstate Carolina Medical Center.
Born in Rutherfordton, N.C., she was the widow of Bobby Gene Westbrooks and daughter of Louvera Ruth Robinson Camp of Mooresboro, N.C., and the late Claude Julian Camp. She was a LPN at Upstate Carolina Medical Center and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Billy Westbrooks of Gaffney; two brothers, Boyce Camp of Cowpens and Bobby Camp of Mooresboro; three sisters, Lois Parker of Gaffney, Jean Fisher of Forest City and Betty Mosley of Chesnee.
In addition to her husband and father, Mrs. Westbrooks was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Camp and Howard Camp.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Joe Paul Turner. Burial will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens. Body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Tim Westbrooks, Todd Richards, Johnny Henson, Michael Reynolds, David Ruppe and Greg Gibson.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7-9 at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home and at other times they will be at the residence.
