GEDCOM FILES

WHAT IS A GEDCOM FILE?

The GEDCOM means Genealogical Data Communications and its format is a standard ASCII format. Your genealogical program downloads your family data into this format and can be sent to other researchers and their program will be able to "read" your data. This makes the exchange of information between computer programs very easy.

HOW DO I SEND IT TO YOU?

You can download your GEDCOM file onto a 3.5 disc and mail it to the Carrie Camp Memorial Library, 34826 Hwy #58, Eugene, Or 97405.

    OR

"Attach" the GEDCOM file to your email to tfarris268@aol.com and send to us. After you write your email, you should have a prompt or box that says "attach". Press this prompt and it will ask for the name of the file. Indicate its name and it will attach the GEDCOM file to your email.
